Chapter 31
House Hunting
Oh, the trips that we’ve taken. From just up the street to 60 minutes out of town, there were a lot of viewings through the years. Never could find the perfect one or if we did, we could not put in an offer soon enough as it required discussion with the pros and cons and by then it was too late.
Truth be known and Marlene knew this is as well. I was quite content to stay where we were. Having said that, I would have supported fully her wish should we had taken the leap.
I was thinking of the future, preferring to be mortgage free and close to everything which our current location allowed.
It was an adventure however for me and a time of joy for her to investigate these various locations. Watching her walk about and express this joy while saying “Oh look at this” or “Now why would they have done that?” and so on it made for a fun drive to and back.
As mentioned in previous chapter, the dream of a new house was strong for many years.
From her constant viewing of the realtor.ca Web site to open houses around town and nearby all within one hour from the city we had a chance to view what was available and in most cases we came away loving our little house even more.
It seemed that all the changes made to the existing house was exactly what we liked and needed.
