Chocolates

A lover of chocolates she was. Something sweet she would say. Having given up smoking years ago, what was the harm. Particularly as she developed a taste for darker chocolate which was better, we thought and hoped at least.

One of her later favourites included, Queen Anne dark chocolate cherry, any Lindt brand and a more recent discovery called Waterbridge.

She loved M&M dark chocolates only available in the states and would rely on friends such as Mary in Florida and later Juanita during her trips to New York.

She also learned quickly to hide them from view, mostly in her desk drawer as yours truly tended to partake when she was not looking.

While she loved Cherry Blossoms; one of those could sit on her desk for months. She would be able to hoard the Swiss Chalet Christmas box of five chocolates until summer or longer.

You never got between Marlene and her chocolates.
